Balance Magazine launch.

When the team at Balance were looking to launch their new title, Magazine Heroes’ track record of taking magazines from paid to free in London and New York made us the ideal partner to advise on and manage distribution.

We worked closely with the team to identify and refine their target market, then created a bespoke distribution plan, pinpointing locations and timings that would get the magazine direct into the hands of the desired readership, namely health-conscious, urban 20-40 year olds with moderate-to-high incomes.

With our plan agreed, we negotiated with distributors and contracted suppliers to handle both the on-street distribution and placement in hotels, cafes and leisure centres. To help build the Balance name, we created branded street furniture and uniforms.

Launching in April 2016, we ensured that Balance achieved its circulation targets in its first month. The magazine went on to win ‘Free Publication of the Year’ at the Newspaper & Magazine Awards in both 2017 and 2018.

Having seen the magazine from launch to a regular feature on the streets of London, we now work with Balance on an ongoing basis, acting as their full-service virtual circulation department, handling admin, finance, and ABC audits, submissions and certification.
